Mariah Dorvil is the founder and director of Our Homeroom Jax, Inc. She has taught at the elementary levels and served as a math interventionist, instructional coach, professional development facilitator, assistant testing coordinator, and lead instructor for the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations with Duval County Public Schools. Although she has taught all subjects, her strengths lie in teaching elementary mathematics.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, she was recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a High Impact Teacher for exceptional student performance. In 2023, she was awarded the Cindy Edelman Excellence in Teaching Fellowship and was sponsored in June of 2024 by the Jacksonville Public Education Fund to travel to Malawi, Africa to empower and educate Malawian children through active and creative play programs and she continues to train educators there. Mrs. Dorvil holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Howard University and a master’s in business from Walden University.
